My work showcases Mary Magdalene's representation in art history, focusing on Early Christian, Medieval, and Contemporary Art. Lectures, retreats, and art exhibits delve deep into the portrayal of Mary Magdalene, offering a unique perspective on her significance and influence on the Church.
Through a blend of educational lectures, immersive retreat experiences, and engaging art exhibits, I celebrate and explore the diverse narratives of early Christian women in art, providing a space for reflection, learning, and empowerment.

In 2022, I commissioned the piece of art, La Unición, by Lázaro Ceballos Fernandez, a Cuban visual artist and
prison chaplain (pictured to the right). The piece shows Mary Magdalene anointing Jesus' head, an image that is
seldom represented in historical or contemporary art.

With astute academic research into Mary Magdalene coupled with a profound commitment to realizing her true legacy, Beth Maczka’s retreat is an invitation of deep connection to the woman who anointed the head of Jesus and all she calls forth in the life of each attendee.
